In 2012, Jeffrey Caton founded Kepler Strategies LLC in Carlisle, Pennsylvania as a veteran-owned small business specializing in support efforts related to national security, cyberspace theory, space operations, and aerospace technology. Jeff has almost 40 years of experience with government defense organizations.
A retired colonel, Caton served 28 years in the US Air Force, working in engineering, joint operations, and foreign military sales, as well as space and nuclear operations. He commanded at the squadron and group level. He also has served over 11 years as a professor at the U.S. Army War College and Defense Acquisition University in the areas of program management, cyberspace operations, defense transformation, and acquisition research.
Since 2010, Caton has lectured on cyberspace and space issues related to international security in the United States, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic, supporting programs such as the Partnership for Peace Consortium and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Cooperative Cyber Defence Center of Excellence. He currently serves on the editorial board of Parameters magazine.
Caton holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the Air War College.
